ABOUT FRANS LANTING
Dutch photographer best known for his wildlife photography. He has worked for National Geographic and has appeared in books, magazines, and exhibitions around the world showing his work from the Amazon River basin, Africa, and Antarctica.
He holds a master's degree in economics. He later studied environmental planning in the United States.
He co-founded the North American Nature Photographers Association. Some of the animals featured in his famous photographs include cheetahs, whales, and penguins.
He married Christine Eckstrom, who is an editor and videographer for National Geographic.
He used music composed by Philip Glass in his 2006 exhibit Life: A Journey Through Time.
