ABOUT FRANK HORNBY
With no formal engineering training, he devised three of the most popular toys in Britain: Meccano, Dinky Toys, and Hornby Model Railways.
He left school at age of 15 to work as a cashier.
He debuted Meccano Magazine in 1916.
He married schoolteacher Clara Walker Godefroy in 1887, and the couple had two sons.
He and Johnny Gruelle were both famous toymakers. Gruelle came out with a series of dolls.
