An accomplished hitter who sported a career MLB batting average of .291. He broke into the big leagues in 1997 with the Detroit Tigers.

He attended Smithtown High School in New York.

The prime of his career came with the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays.

He has four children: Camdyn, Morgan, Karson, and Gracyn.

Infielder Michael Young was his teammate on the Rangers.
