ABOUT FRANK CARSON
Remembered for his work on such 1970s United Kingdom children's and comedy television programs as Today Is Saturday Watch And Smile (also known as Tiswas) and The Comedians, he also appeared on a popular BBC variety show called The Good Old Days.
Early in his career, he acted in comedic Irish television shows and performed in England as a stand-up comic.
He was a three-time champion of a Hughie Green-hosted television comedy talent competition called Opportunity Knocks.
He grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in a Catholic family of Italian heritage. He and his wife, Ruth, raised two sons and one daughter.
He was featured in 1985 on the Eamonn Andrews -hosted television series This Is Your Life.
