Nicknamed The White Buffalo, he started his professional career with 35 straight victories before testing positive for steroids following a fight that was deemed no contest. He would lose his very next fight to Michael Moorer .

He made his professional debut in 1990 against Johan Van Zyl, winning by knock out in the first round.

He held the IBF Heavyweight Championship title from December of 1995 until March of 1996.

He was born in Witbank, Mpumalanga, South Africa.

He was defeated by Mike Tyson by knock out in the 5th round of what was a very notable fight.
