ABOUT FERNANDO BUJONES
One of the best ballet dancers of his generation, he was the first American to win the gold at the International Ballet Olympics.
He began studying dancing in his native Havana, later moving to the U.S. and attending New York City's School of American Ballet.
He toured abroad extensively, and became the first American dancer to perform with the famed Bolshoi Ballet.
His mother Mary Calleriro was also a former dancer.
He was compared to the great Russian dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov , but was considered an even greater talent.
