Irish drummer who rose to fame as a founding member of alternative rock band The Cranberries .
He worked as a hairdresser and a janitor before his music career took off.
In 2019, he and his bandmates in The Cranberries received honorary doctorates from the University of Limerick.
He has a brother and two sisters. He has been married to Laurie Guerin since 1997. The couple has two sons, Jacob and Nathan.
Dolores O'Riordan was his bandmate in The Cranberries.
