Popular fighter who won a UFC middleweight championship in 2005 and previously was a Unified Shoot Wrestling Federation heavyweight champion.

He was a state wrestling champion at Caprock High School in Texas.

He died of heat exposure on a solo trip into the desert.

He was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas.

He defeated Phil Baroni twice, once by decision and once by TKO.
