ABOUT ERNIE ISLEY

Guitarist who was part of the iconic R&B and soul group, The Isley Brothers.

His group started out in gospel but then moved into soul and blues.

At fourteen years old, he was playing the drums with his brothers; at sixteen, he got a guitar and started teaching himself how to play.

His mother was a church pianist who taught her children how to play.

Jimi Hendrix was a close associate of the group; he was ten years older than Isley and he saw Hendrix as an older brother.
