Retired Irish No. 8 for several rugby teams in the 1990s and 2000s.
He made 12 appearances for the Leicester Tigers in the Heineken Cup.
He played many other sports including soccer, gaelic football, cricket, and golf.
He married a strength and conditioning coach named Jenny in 2003.
He and Craig Gilroy both played for the Irish national team.
