Enrique Bermudez

ABOUT ENRIQUE BERMUDEZ

Important Cold War-era figure who founded and led the Nicaraguan Contras. His troops fought against the Marxist Sandinista National Liberation Front government of Nicaragua.

He attended a military academy and went on to work for the engineer corps of the Nicaraguan Guardia Nacional.

He was assassinated in Managua in 1991.

He married Elsa Italia Mejia; together, they raised four children.

He read numerous works by Ayn Rand .
