World music singer and songwriter who rose to fame after releasing the 2004 single "Baasha Kelmet La." She has since gone on to develop a fan base of over 2 million followers on her emysalemofficial Instagram account.

She majored in marketing at the London Westminster University.

In 2007, she was cast on the television series Kadeyet Nasab.

She is an only child.

Both she and fellow singer Sherine are from Egypt.
