ABOUT EDWIN HALL

Physicist credited with the discovery of the "Hall Effect," which describes the voltage difference across an electrical conductor. He served as a Professor of Physics at Harvard University from 1895 to 1921.

He was the Principal of Brunswick High School from 1876 to 1877 and earned his PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 1880.

His famous "Hall Effect" is found in fuel injection and anti-lock braking systems for motor vehicles.

He married Caroline Eliza Bottum from Vermont in August 1882.

He and Roy J. Glauber both taught Physics at Harvard University.
