South African dancer, most recognized as the prima ballerina assoluta during her time with the Cape Town City Ballet.
Her parents sent her to London when she was a child to study the Cecchetti method with Margaret Craske.
In 1953, she was presented with the Cape Tercentenary Foundation Award, a highly prestigious honor.
She had two daughters with her husband, Guy Cronwright.
She and Cricket player, Morne Morkel , were both born in South Africa.
