ABOUT DRAGO IBLER
Modernist architect famous for his 10-story "Wooden Skyscraper" in Zagreb. Founder of the Earth Group and a member of CIAM. He also built villas on the KorĨula island and Zagreb.
He studied under German architect Hans Poelzig; years later, Ibler became an architectural pedagogue himself, holding teaching positions at the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts and at the University of Geneva.
His District Labour Insurance Building was one of the first examples of modern architecture in Yugoslavia.
He was born in the city of Zagreb, which was a center for the arts and culture.
He was influenced by the work of Le Corbusier .
