Screenwriter most remembered for screenplays including 1953's Kiss Me Kate, Small Town Girl, and Dangerous When Wet.

She went to LA to visit with a friend, and while there had several meetings with various agents, in order to secure work.

While she recovered from a nasty bout with the measles, she began listening to radio, which prompted her to write segments that she felt were worthwhile.

Her mother Alma Hanlon was a silent film actress; her father Walter, conversely, was an agent.

She wrote many segments for actor Jack Benny .
