ABOUT DONALD CARR
Captained Derbyshire from 1955 to 1962 where he scored over 10,000 runs, and was Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1960.
He was a footballer at Oxford University and won the FA Amateur Cup twice with Pegasus in 1951 and 1953.
He became assistant secretary of the MCC, secretary to the Cricket Council, and the Test and County Cricket Boar after retirement.
His son John played cricket for Middlesex.
He and Alastair Cook both served as England Test cricket captains.
