ABOUT DIZZY DEAN

4-time MLB All-Star for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Browns. He helped lead the Cardinals to a World Series title in 1934 and was named 1934 National League MVP after going 30–7 with a 2.66 ERA.

He made his MLB debut for the Cardinals in 1930, pitching a complete game while allowing only one run.

He recorded 150 wins with a career 3.02 ERA, but an injury to his big toe eventually numbered his pitching days.

He married Patricia Nash on June 15, 1931.

He once struck out Vince DiMaggio four times in a single game after betting he could strike him out four times before the game.
