Dilip Mahalanabis
ABOUT DILIP MAHALANABIS
Biologist and Director of International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research who helped revolutionize oral rehydration therapy. He received the Pollin Prize for pediatric research in 2002.
He first became director of the the ICDDR in Bangladesh during the 1970's.
He became a foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1994.
He was married to physics researcher Dr. Jayanti Mahalanabis.
He and stem cell researcher Ann Kiessling are both renowned biologists.
