ABOUT DIEGO CASTILLO

Professional reliever that was first signed by the Tampa Bay Rays as an international free agent in 2014. He was later acquired by the Seattle Mariners via trade in July 2021. Through the 2022 season, he maintained an earned run average of 3.12.

He began his professional career playing for the DSL Rays rookie affiliate team. He was later promoted to the Hudson Valley Renegades.

He pitched the final two innings of Game 5 in the 2020 American League Divisional Series against the New York Yankees . He also pitched in the 2020 American League Championship Series against the Houston Astros .

He grew up living with his family in Cabrera, Dominican Republic. He is the youngest of ten siblings.

He pitched against Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton during the 2020 American League Divisional Series.
