ABOUT DICK RAUCH

NFL player-coach for the Boston Bulldogs, the New York Yankees, and the Pottsville Maroons during the 1920s.

He worked in a steel mill before continuing his athletic career; he was also an avid birdwatcher and an electrical engineer outside of football.

He became the first NFL coach to establish daily practices as part of the players' routines.

He grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with his family.

He was teammates with Red Grange on the old New York Yankees NFL team.
