He began doing makeup in the early 1980s after working in a slaughterhouse during his teen years.
He was in a theater group at school. He moved to New York in 1994.
Born near Portsmouth, England, he and his family would move around a lot due to his father's service in the Navy. One of his three sisters worked as a nurse. He is married.
He has worked with numerous celebrities, including Daisy Ridley for a Glamour magazine photo shoot.
