ABOUT DAVID TLALE

Designer who launched his eponymous brand in 2003. He would later be named Fashion Designer of the year at the Africa Fashion Awards in 2009. His work is particularly trademarked for rich cultural influences.

He kicked off his career in 2002 as a semifinalist in the South African Fashion Week Elle New Talent Show Competition.

In 2003, he began running his own design studio from home and would later open studios in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

He hails from Vosloorus, South Africa.

In 2011, he debuted his "Made In The City" Collection in honor of Nelson Mandela 's life.
