ABOUT DAVID PITHEY
Versatile player who played test cricket for South Africa from 1963 to 1967.
He made his first class debut in 1956 for Rhodesia.
He left Rhodesia for Oxford University in 1959, after being awarded a Rhodes Scholarship.
His brother, Tony Pithey, also was a successful cricketer, and the two played together for South Africa.
He is one of many notable cricketers to have played for Northamptonshire, along with athletes such as Michael Hussey .
