ABOUT DAVID JUDE JOLICOEUR

Rapper who was best known as one-third of the pioneering hip-hop group De La Soul . He was also known under the aliases Trugoy the Dove and Dave. One of the group's songs "The Magic Number" was featured in the end credits of the popular movie Spider-Man: No Way Home .

He and the other members of De La Soul met while high school students in Long Island during the 80s.

His hair, styled in uneven dreadlocks, became affectionately known as the "De La Do". He passed away at the age of 54.

His parents were of Haitian descent.

He and Vincent Lamont Mason Jr. , a.k.a. Maseo, are founding members of the essential hip-hop trio De La Soul.
