David Gibbs

ABOUT DAVID GIBBS

Defensive minded coach who has held the position of defensive backs coach with the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Houston Texans at the professional level.

He was a defensive back at the University of Colorado and helped lead the Buffaloes to a national championship in 1990. He made his coaching debut in 1991 as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma.

At the collegiate level, he served as defensive coordinator for the Auburn Tigers in 2005 and held the same position at the University of Houston starting in 2013.

His father was an NFL assistant coach named Alex Gibbs.

He was the defensive coordinator for the Texans while Gary Kubiak was the head coach.
