Guitarist known for being a member of Jane's Addiction. He also performed with the bands Deconstruction, The Panic Channel, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers .

He joined Jane's Addiction in 1986. Although they broke up in 1991, they have been on-and-off in the decades since.

He hosted a Spike TV tattoo reality show called Ink Master . His mother was murdered in 1983 and her murderer was caught in 1991 after being featured on an episode of America's Most Wanted.

He was married to make-up artist Tania Goddard, Rhian Gittins, and model and actress Carmen Electra . In 2015, he began a relationship with news anchor Andrea Tantaros . In 2020, he began dating actress Vanessa DuBasso . They got married in March 2025.

He was briefly a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, alongside the band's frontman Anthony Kiedis .
