She moved to Orlando, Florida and auditioned for a job as a singer at Disney World.
She was nominated for the Rising Star Trophy at the British Country Music Awards in 1999.
She married a man who was also a guitar-playing singer-songwriter.
She and fellow country singer Tim Mensy are both natives of Virginia.
