ABOUT DANIEL PINEDA

Mixed martial artist who became a Featherweight champion in Katana Cagefighting and Legacy Fighting Championship before debuting with Ultimate Fighting Championship in January 2012. He went 3-4 in UFC before returning to Legacy in July 2014.

He won his first professional fight against Jeremy Mahon with a rear-naked choke at IFC: Caged Combat in April 2007.

His first-round submission of Justin Lawrence during the The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale earned him Submission of the Night honors.

He was born in Dallas, Texas.

He defeated Frank Gomez via submission to defend his Legacy Featherweight title at Legacy Fighting Championship 7 in July 2011.
