Cinematographer most well known as the husband of renowned film actress Julia Roberts .

After earning a degree in psychology from the University of Colorado, he began his career as a production assistant for Crimson Tide.

An established cinematographer in Hollywood, he has worked on films like The Normal Heart, Spider-Man 3, and Secret in Their Eyes.

He was married to makeup artist Vera Steimberg from 1997 to 2002. He then married Julia Roberts and has three children named Hazel , Henry Daniel, and Phinnaeus. His father Mike is a producer.

While working on the film The Normal Heart, he worked alongside writer and director Ryan Murphy .
