Businessman and philanthropist. In 2001 he became the CEO of technology companies Sigma, Epsilon, and Teleca.
He received his M.S. in Engineering in 1974.
His philanthropic commitment to South Africa included the Thanda Foundation and the Thanda Private Game Reserve.
He married in 1973 and had three children.
He was born in the same country as pianist Iiro Rantala .
