Professional pitcher that was signed by the Houston Astros as an international free agent in 2015. After the conclusion of his first major league season, he finished third in voting for the AL Rookie of the Year award in 2020.

He began his professional career playing for the Astros' rookie affiliate team the DSL Astros. He was originally signed as an outfielder but eventually transitioned into becoming a pitcher.
