Professional journalist who climbed the ranks to become a civil liberties-focused staff writer for The Atlantic. Previously, he worked for the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin and interned for The Daily Dish blog.

After receiving a scholarship, he studied journalism at New York University .

He regularly puts together a list featuring news articles and investigative reports titled The Best of Journalism.

He was raised in Orange County, California. Two of his grandparents were French Cajuns.

He wrote a piece outlining why he supported presidential candidate Gary Johnson during the 2012 election.
