He began learning the guitar when he was 13. He attended the University of Saskatchewan.
He released his sophomore album Songs of the Plains in October 2018, and saw it peak in the top 10 of the US Indie charts. He released his self-titled debut album in May 2017 to critical acclaim.
His father Brad was the Premier of Saskatchewan. His mom's name is Tami.
He opened for Lucinda Dryzek in 2016.
