ABOUT EDDIE CLEANHEAD VINSON

Otherwise known as Cleanhead, Vinson was an influential bandleader, jazz saxophone player, and blues shouter.

He was mentored by Big Bill Broonzy while on tour.

He lost the ability to grow hair after an incident where his hair straightener had lye in it.

Born to parents "Piano" Sam Vinson and Arnella Session, who were both pianists, and had a grandfather who was a violinist.

Throughout the 1970s he worked high-profile blues and jazz sessions for Count Basie .
