ABOUT CLAUDIO LóPEZ

Argentine former soccer forward nicknamed "El Piojo" who won numerous league titles with clubs like Valencia CF, Club America and the Colorado Rapids during his career. He represented Argentina at the FIFA World Cup twice and won a silver medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics.

He made his professional debut with Estudiantes de La Plata at age 16. He transferred to Racing Club de Avellaneda in 1992.

Before the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea, he appeared in a "Secret Tournament" television commercial by Nike which was directed by Terry Gilliam .

He was born in Río Tercero, Argentina.

He was teammates with Juan Sebastián Verón on the Argentina team at the 1998 and 2002 FIFA World Cups.
