German sculptor and the wife of poet Rainer Maria Rilke. She studied with Carl Seffner and Max Klinger.

She studied at Munich and attended a private art school.

She learned sculpture with Fritz Mackensen when she was young.

She married the poet Rainer Maria Rilke in Worpswede in 1901.

She studied sculpture under Auguste Rodin .
