ABOUT CHRISTY SMITH

Known best for her appearance on CBS's Survivor: The Amazon, this deaf reality television personality also had a career as an entrepreneur, founding an organization called Discovering Deaf Worlds. She was voted out on Day 33.

She lost her hearing in infancy due to complications from her premature birth. She later studied sociology and criminology at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.

After appearing on Survivor, she launched a PBS children's television program called Christy's Kids: Challenge Yourself. She voted for Morasca to win the $1,000,000 USD grand prize at the end of her season of Survivor.

She was born and raised in Aspen, Colorado.

She was voted off of Survivor by Jenna Morasca and other contestants.
