Model and showgirl most famous for a scandal with cabinet member John Profumo during the Cold War. She was investigated by the press for having multiple affairs with men in positions of power.
She began work as a model in a London store at the age of 15.
She went to trial in June of 1963 for accusing a man of attacking her.
Her father abandoned her as a child and she was brought up by her mother, Julie Ellen.
Her affair with John Profumo happened during the leadership of Harold Macmillan .
