She graduated from Baylor University in 2006 and earned a Master's in Agriculture, Agriculture Operations and Related Sciences.

She published a second cookbook, Comfort and Joy: Cooking for Two, that focuses on savory main dishes in addition to desserts.

She and Brian Lane have one daughter named Camille.
