ABOUT CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR
Chief CNN correspondent and host of a self-titled interview program.
She grew up in Iran before moving to England at age eleven. She attended the University of Rhode Island , where she received a degree in journalism in 1983. Three years later, she was working for CNN in New York City.
She was born to a family of Iranian, Bosnian, and British heritage. After being relocated to Frankfurt, West Germany in 1989, through her job at CNN, she became CNN's on-the-spot reporter, covering the political climate during the sweeping changes of pro-democracy being brought to eastern Europe; this was her big break.
She married James Rubin in 1998.
She, like Anderson Cooper , became known for her work with CNN.
