He played baseball at Georgia Tech on scholarship.

He hit his first home run July 1, 2011, which was his 25th birthday.

His father Myron ran track at Georgia State University.

He played alongside Michael Cuddyer on the Rockies in 2013, the year Cuddyer was selected to his first NL All-Star team.
