Charles Ringling

ABOUT CHARLES RINGLING

Circus showman who was one of seven original Ringling Brothers who owned the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. He served the circus by being in charge of production.

He spent years developing and building golf courses, courthouses, and hotels on his large tracts of land in Florida.

At the circus he was in charge of production and his employees at the circus called him Mr. Charlie.

He married Edith Ringling and raised a family in Sarasota.

He was in the same circus business as Emmett Kelly .
