ABOUT CECIL BEATON

British fashion and portrait photographer, as well as a Tony and Academy Award-winning costume designer and socialite.

He photographed American actress Lillian Gish in the early years of his career.

He famously photographed British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill , in 1940.

He was the son of wealthy timber merchant Ernest Walter Hardy Beaton.

He had relationships with both men and women and was, at one point, romantically involved with actress Greta Garbo .
