ABOUT CASEY SCHMITT

Major league third baseman that was originally taken by the San Francisco Giants as a second round pick in the 2020 MLB draft. Prior to being drafted, he played college baseball at San Diego State . As a sophomore in 2019, he earned second team All-MWC honors.

He's a graduate of Eastlake High School. While there, he played infield, outfield, and he was a pitcher.

He made his official MLB debut while playing against the Washington Nationals on May 9, 2023. He would later go on to record hits in his first three MLB games, tying an MLB record with legendary hitters Willie McCovey and Joe DiMaggio .

He was born and raised in the San Diego, California area.

He collected his first major league hit facing Patrick Corbin .
