Known as a longtime host of her own do-it-youself show on the HGTV Network.

She and her friend tried out for a spot on a fledgeling television station and earned a 15-minute spot on weekdays.

Her eponymous television show ran for over a decade on HGTV and the DIY Network, recording more than 1,300 episodes.

She had two children with Carl Duvall, whom she married in 1945. They later divorced.

David Reed Bromstad was another popular host of an HGTV program--Color Splash.
