ABOUT CARLOS VILLAGRáN
Mexican-born comedian who is known to audiences as Quico in the El Chavo del Ocho series.
Before becoming a comedic celebrity, he once worked as a journalist at a newspaper in Mexico City, and began performing by entertaining his family at a party with impersonations and goofy antics.
He left his hit show in 1978 after a lengthy and arduous legal battle over the rights to his character Quico.
He had six children: three sons and three daughters.
He starred with Ramón Valdés on El Chavo del Ocho.
