ABOUT CALEB CARR

Novelist whose historically-themed works typically focus on the Victorian and Gilded ages. His best known fiction works include Casing the Promised Land, Killing Time, and the Angel of Darkness.

He studied military and diplomatic history at New York University. He published his first novel, Casing the Promised Land, in 1980.

He taught military history at Bard College and co-wrote several non-fiction, historical works, including America Invulnerable: The Quest for Absolute Security from 1812 to Star Wars (1989) and The Lessons of Terror (2002).

His father, Lucien Carr, was an editor and prominent Beat Generation figure.

He wrote the screenplay for Exorcist: The Beginning, a film that featured Izabella Scorupco .
