Professional pitcher that was drafted by the Chicago Cubs during the sixth round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He was acquired by the Houston Astros via trade in August 2020.

Prior to being drafted, he attended Texas A&M University , where he played collegiate baseball.

He made his major league debut pitching against the San Diego Padres on August 7, 2012 as a member of the Cubs.

He is a native of San Antonio, Texas.

He played alongside Joey Votto as a member of the Cincinnati Reds during the 2020 MLB season.
