ABOUT BRENDAN O'CONNOR

Famous as the host of RTE One's The Saturday Night Show, he is also notable as a columnist for Dublin's Sunday Independent newspaper. In addition, he sat on the judges' panel of the You're a Star reality talent competition.

Before beginning his television career, he was a champion debate team student at the Colaiste An Spioraid Naoimh school in Cork, Ireland. He later graduated from University College Cork.

A pop singer as well as a television personality, he performed with bands called The Frank and Walters and Fr. Brian & The Fun Loving Cardinals, scoring an Irish Top 5 hit with the latter band's comedic single "Who's in the House?"

His marriage to journalist Sarah Caden resulted in daughters named Anna and Mary.

While hosting The Saturday Night Show, he interviewed both television host Michael Barrymore and performance artist Oliver Callan.
